Purpose and Scope
The Graphic Designer will conceptualize and develop visual solutions for print, web, video and other media to implement programs and campaigns of The Gideons International in conjunction with staff writers and other members of the Gideon Education & Training (GET) team. The successful Graphic Designer will utilize their technical, problem-solving, and communication skills to continually improve departmental functionality within the organization. Good photography skills or the willingness to learn and develop in photography is required.
Essential Job Functions
Meet with the owners of programs to discuss and interpret their needs.
Participate in the development of creative briefs by gathering information and data to clarify creative issues.
Think creatively to produce new ideas and use innovation to provide visual solutions that meet the cost constraints and time-frame for the project, utilizing the appropriate range of media, including photography and computer aided design.
Create and explain concepts, storyboards, layouts, graphics, color schemes, and similar items for each project.
Photograph ministry events locally and abroad for marketing initiatives as needed.
Produce accurate, timely and high-quality work utilizing pre-determined brand standards.
Create templated deliverables to be edited and/or modified for broad geographical and multi-lingual use.
Keep abreast of developments in Christian and secular culture, as well as communications, marketing, and graphic design.

Works Closely With: Managers, Senior Designer, Copywriters, and TGI Staff
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Training & Development
Follow verbal and written instructions
Experience in industry standard graphic design and layout software:
Adobe Creative Suite products
Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects is desirable
Ability to use MAC and widely-used software applications
Experience with HTML and CSS is desirable
Assists with the in-house and member-facing photography requests and the ability (or willingness to learn how) to use a digital camera to capture engaging storytelling images
Strong creative, conceptual and organizational skills
Ability to learn new software applications as necessary
Ability to provide analytical skills
Ability to communicate effectively with all TGI Staff and external vendors

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or equivalent experience
2-4 years of equivalent work experience
Successful completion of a drug and background screen
