Purpose and Scope
The Associate Manager, Donor Engagement is responsible to assist the Manager, Donor Development in growing gifts given to support the ministry of The Gideons International by developing and implementing strategies and initiatives for the acquisition, activation, cultivation and stewarding of donors.
Assists in providing leadership for the GideonCard Bible Program which represents a major source of funding ($17 Million in FYE 2017) for the mission of The Gideons International, provides the ministry with the greatest source of new donors and creates awareness of the ministry among the Christian community at large.
The Associate Manager of Donor Engagement assists in coordinating direct mail appeals, email communications, social media and web site activity to members and non-members.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Training & Development
A testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ and active membership in an Evangelical Protestant church is required.
Demonstrate successful leadership in developing product concepts, product development, packaging, marketing and publicity.
Possess the presence and communication skills necessary to represent The Gideons International well to donors and members at all levels.
Follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to use PC and widely-used software applications, especially Microsoft Office applications
Ability to learn new software applications as necessary
Ability to provide analytical skills and recognize significant trends in donor file performance.
Ability to communicate effectively with HQ staff, membership and donors.

Some travel by car and air as necessary
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
5-10 years of experience in consumer product sales and marketing or equivalent work experience
PC proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office applications
Successful completion of a drug and background screen
Experience as an active member of The Gideons International
Business unit experience with successful P/L accountability
Complex project management
Copywriting and creative design for direct response
Development or donor direct response experience is desirable
